I have been to three. Going early is the only way to get best seats.

You need water, and can bring it inside with you. Empty all the extra junk out of your purse, wallet, pockets, etc.
It just slows down the security check.

The best way to guarantee a place in the event is to voluntee to work the event.
Wash your hands before. Trump is a germophobe.
So my recommendation is to hydrate yourself before getting in line (but make sure you hit the restroom just before getting in line). Have a good breakfast too. Lot of eggs and bacon. That will keep you filled up rest of day.
For me, it was a five hour wait to get inside and I was well in back of the line. Some of those crazy bastards were lined up the night before. However, as long as you had a partner to hold your spot, you could take turns going to the restrooms.
Once inside, it will be another 2-3 hours at least before you see Trump.
The time does go by fast though. For one thing, you are among friends. My wife and I chatted up everybody around us while waiting and it was a pleasant experience. EVERYBODY at a Trump rally are friendly, good people.
You might have carefully printed the tickets after signing up for the event. No worries. They aren't going to check your tickets. Instead, you will be put through airport level security. So have nothing on you that will be considered contraband or possibly used as a weapon. The Secret Service are serious about protecting our president.
Dress comfortable and casual as it is a long wait. However, I hear that well-dressed people are often picked from the crowd and invited to sit right behind where Trump will be speaking. Having MAGA caps or "Women for Trump" or "Blacks for Trump" signs will increase your chances even more.
Despite the hours of waiting, I consider that day one of the best of my life. For just over an hour, I was less than 50 feet away from one of our greatest presidents.
Only been to one. Don’t know how much good getting there early is. In our case the lines dissolved once the doors opened. I got in after waiting two hours ahead of a woman who waited over night.
You can’t bring backpacks or umbrellas (it was raining when I went) or anything that could be mistaken for a weapon. Uniformed Secret Service were there as well as LEOs. Even my keyring flashlight (less than 1” long) was looked at.
There will be loads of vendors and there will be trash everywhere. No, we aren’t slobs, but they won’t allow anything remotely like a trash barrel anywhere near the event.
You will have a good time.
I’ve been to two rallies. It’s great to see Trump, but I’ve also seen Herman Cain, Diamond and Silk, Jared, and Eric and Tiffany Trump.
Trump puts on a great show, you’ll have a wonderful time.
To get the best seat say, “Hey! President Trump is out in the lobby!”
I don’t know we attended one of the earliest rallies when there was no security check. Just a handful of cops walking around. We stood up the whole time and for over an hour before the rally started. It was great!
