Every item on a Walmart needs to earn its profit. High volume items get the best shelf space. Lesser desired products are on the lowest shelf.
At my local Walmart in Georgia, the gas cans are shown in a remote corner of the store and way in back.
Gas cans take up lots of space on the shelf and people need to buy them only on a blue moon.
