Police are investigating a Christian politician in Finland for an alleged hate crime because she shared a Bible verse on Facebook to criticize a national church that participated in LGBT Pride festivities.
In the post, congresswoman Päivi Räsänen, a Christian Democrat, criticized the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland for participating in the Helsinki LGBT Pride events in June. Her criticism was alongside a picture of Romans 1:24-27 that describes same-sex relationships as shameful.
Her post made Räsänen the subject of a pretrial investigation by the Finnish Police for a suspected incitement against sexual and gender minorities.
The pre-trial investigations have not yet been completed. Police will provide more details once the investigations have been completed or presented to a prosecutor for consideration of charges, the Helsinki Police Department officer in charge of the investigation told the Helsinki Times.
Räsänen, who is a member of and is married to a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (ELCF), came under fire for her June Facebook post: How can the churchs doctrinal foundation, the Bible, be compatible with the lifting up of shame and sin as a subject of pride? #LGBT #HelsinkiPride2019.

You forgot the sarcasm tag...
These a-holes once implored that they just want to be left alone. They can FOAD.
Actually, the Lord told us it would happen.
This is arguably, if not certainly, the turning away, the apostasy that we are seeing. That it looks like Romans 1:18-32 is going on around us is probably because it literally is. That “dying canary in a coal mine” is a sign.
But that is not a cause to become discouraged, and not just because it says that when we see these things we should be looking up. Rather there is always a remnant. Yes, Jesus wondered if He would find faith when He returned but that doesn’t mean that He’ll find no faith, only that it will be embattled and besieged as remnants tend to be.
Using a metaphor: the Lord doesn’t use anti-cling sheets in His laundry and we can in very real spiritual terms cling to the Lord knowing we are in His hands, who can take us out?
But compromising the truth isn’t clinging.
Earlier today on another forum one fellow posted his typical screed about how the creation of the State of Israel ruined relations between Christians and Muslims and I just didn’t respond because why bother? I mean, WHAT good relations in 14 centuries of ceaseless aggression where peace was just Muslims rearming for a new push somewhere ... unless it is good relations with Islam on Islam’s terms!
The world is the same, literally the exact same, it wants Christians to be on good terms with it on the world’s terms. That’s why we compromise, not the world, or else there will be trouble.
Well, if “clinging” means preferring the trouble then that’s what it will take.
And, to be blunt, our heavenly Father can beat up their spiritual daddy.
Counterpoint: it was the Brave New World that shows the corruption of licentiousness that has played out in the West rather than1984’s soviet style State.
Huxley was sadly more on the mark.
Any country with laws against “Hate Speech” is NOT a free country.
Only a matter of time before west European countries restrict the use of Bibles if not ban them outright.
You mean that part wasn’t just advice that we needed to watch our figures?

Funny that this extreme PC came out of Marxism and has infected the Western countries but Russia doesn’t put up with it.
My granddad, a pilot, used to tell a joke that flying in planes was unscriptural because: low I be with you always.
Cultural Marxism was created by real Marxists to undermine the West, to create people incapable of sustaining either nation or civilization.
The Frankfurt School succeeded beyond their wildest imaginations.
All these PC people would have been the first against the wall had the Soviets won....
From Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, the Prophet (p.b.u.h) states that: "If a woman comes upon a woman, they are both adulteresses, if a man comes upon a man, then they are both adulterers.
Al-Tabarani in al-Mujam al-Awat: 4157, Al-Bayhaqi, Suab al-Iman: 5075
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet said: If you find anyone doing as Lot's people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.
Sunan Abu Dawood, 38:4447, Al-Tirmidhi, 15:1456, Ibn Maajah, 20:2561
Ahmad narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet of Allah said: "May Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Lot, may Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Lot," three times.
Musnad Ahmad: 2915
More fascism.
What’s meant by “the people of Lot”? The Bible names them as the Moabites and Ammonites.
The Sodomites were not Lot’s people; he lived there before it and Amorah (Gomorrah) were destroyed.
All Marxism is cultural and an attack on existing cultures, so that’s a redundant phrase.
Of course, the left is trying to characterize anyone who uses the phrase “cultural Marxist” as an antisemite now.
Revelation 12:9 warned that the devil would deceive the whole world; even though it was always the case from the time of Adam, it would be even more so the closer we get to the great tribulation.
Disagreement with behavior that is contrary to evolution is not hate, it is disagreement, simple as that. If I hunt animals people will disagree with me but I do not hate them or use the law or intimation to quite their opinion or limited their free will. Being gay is different, we get that but that does not mean everyone has to embrace ALL of the behaviors that come along with it.
You speak of being at the center of hate yet you want to put their children in wood chippers and slowly starve the parents. How is this not true hate? And you wonder why people do not want to hear about gay 24/7. There is more in this world than being gay.
IIRC during candidate Obama’s first try in 2008, a reporter asked him what was his favorite Bible verse. His response was John 16:3 “And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father nor me.”
From what I gather from the very brief research done, I take it to mean Lot’s neighbors, or people that lived in the same town as Lot, not necessarily his family.
Perhaps a Koranic expert on this forum can shed some light on your question.
