Iconic? I’m a massive metal head and I’ve never heard of him or dokken
If you’ve never heard of Poison either, you’re doing very well.
Dokken is a group I have the vaguest of vague recall of hearing about once ages ago. Just the name and maybe that it was a metal outfit. Couldn’t name anything by them or anything else of note. This post is more than I ever care to know about them. They would be complete unknowns to me if I ever ran across them.
Dokken was one of the biggest west coast hair metal bands of the 1980s with three multi-platinum albums between 1984 and 1987. George Lynch rivaled Eddie Van Halen as the genre's defining guitar players.
I know. I was one of those teenage white boy wannabe guitar slingers who idolized Lynch and is today, like practically every former Dokken fan, a 50-year old Trump voter
Huh?
Very famous Metal band of the 80’s.
Even I know Dokken, and I like it as much as rap...
Same here. Never heard of her or her knitting club.
Dokken wasn’t real metal. It was an awful hair band like Poison and, aside from their first two albums, Motley Crue.
I envy that you never heard of them. That band brings back bad memories of two idiot girlfriends back then that were idiotically obsessed with that entire garbage genre :-).
I don’t know how you can be a “massive metalhead” and never heard of Dokken. Anyway, guys/bands like this are what I refer to as Political Cicadas. They run on 4 or 8-year cycles. When a republican assumes the White House they spring forth from their slumber and attempt to recapture their own little slice of relevance for a reunion tour or project launch. Like their insect counterpart, they’ll disappear again soon enough.
Then you’re not much of a metal head. G.L. damn near became Ozzy’s guitarist for Blizzard. Had the gig, that is, until a dude by the name of Randy showed up. You do know who Randy Rhoads is, right? For that matter, you know who Ozzy is, right? Dude, do you even rock, bruh?
