Yeah, but the goats didn’t seem to mind. :)
Seriously, though, the only problem was that one started nibbling on my purse. She stopped when I scolded her. The goats in “our” pen were females and one male goat without “his boy parts”, in the words of the owner, so perhaps the males are the ones who might butt people. The males, he told me, are kept in another area.
It was quite interesting to watch the behavior of the goats. We arrived in the pen before anyone else. A small group of the goats came to check us out, but, after a while, they lost interest.
This same pattern was repeated with each new group that arrived. Most of the people would pet the goats, but one woman had one settled down in her lap like a large cat.
It was a great time. The chickens in the pen ignored us, but we didn’t take it personally. And the beer was good.
