For one thing, our local news was getting their talking points from the New York Times...they said as much.

For another, the shooter, white, of course, failed a background test, but was able to get a gun through a PRIVATE sale. Those Libs need that private sale loophole closed....

There used to be mental hospitals where psychotics were sent and treated, one way or another. Or warehoused.

Some people cannot exist in society due to psychosis. What do to with them? Giving them psych drugs and turning them loose is obviously not the answer for many of them.

Doing nothing about dangerous psychotics because people with “unpopular” viewopoints may be unfairly targeted is sort of like the argument that there should be no death penalty because an occasional innocent person might be executed.

Any law can be misused, any govenment agency or department (at any level of gov) can be turned into a political weapon. Does that mean anarchy is a better choice? Some people think so. (Not saying you think so, just sort of musing on the topic.)

This article matched what I heard about the protests at the time but it's almost impossible to find this information now - the Internetz have almost been scrubbed clean, it seems. Truth has been buried and now when the left rages about Charlottesville and accuses the president of lying, search results don't reveal the truth. Google posts biased articles as if they are objective and invites the reader, "You Decide".
