Old towels are great for potholders and such.
Probably very good for a table runner on the cheap since it’s thin enough to keep glasses from falling over and if you use lofty batting it might shift.
I used to buy ugly old comforters for a couple bucks at the thrift store and gut them for batting.
There are no rules in quilting.
People have always used what they had for centuries.
Nice work, satisfying isn’t it? I love sitting back with my feet up just listening to the jars seal. It’s been a few years since I’ve canned that much. And some things I do every other year like pickled beets. I like that fabric. I’m more of a scrap quilter too. I started a small quilt recently, log cabin squares. It’s actually going to wind up being a baby quilt, baby on one side, scrap on the other. And sitting around are a dozen or more batik fabric pieces I picked up in Lancaster PA about 15 years ago. Yes they are that old. I fell in love with batik fabric in one store and they were selling fat 8ths! I have actually crocheted more than I have quilted. I usually crochet more in the winter. Knitting not so much as I am not too coordinated with 2 needles. When you mentioned potholders I wondered is you have ever sewn any of those microwave bowls? They are the best.
You’ve been a busy girl!
Woo!
I need to channel that productiveness to my own household.
And I love the giant potholder.
