My first impression,
Creepy Uncle Joe.
I wonder if there was an access panel behind it. Like to a safe or something.
Clearly a representation of the “strength” tarot card. (Symbolically, will over self or the material.)
Most likely, knowing the owner and his associates, more likely the Crowley Thoth version in which the title is ‘Lust’ and the image is the whore of Babylon riding the Beast, complete with chalice of blood. I won’t link the image here, go look it up.
In that schema there’s an explicit sexual reference, kinda obvious if you see the card, a key part of Crowleyite gnostic masses, and intended to create a “magickal child.” You think a guy with billions couldn’t spawn kids for pay?
He was an evil man... Why don’t Mika and Joe care about all the men who flew with Epstein?

Or a safe room. Those are pretty common now in high end homes in case of intruders.
My favorite is a story I heard about an elderly woman that lived alone had a multipurpose room put in her home when it was remodeled. She had a secure room built that was her safe room but also set up to store her firearms and ammo.
there is a report in the NYT that states epstein wanted to ‘seed the planet with his DNA’ by havign sex with 20 women at a time- and even approached scientists to find out the feasibility of spreadign his DNA worldwide-

Weird connections at work here: Your reference to “Crowley Thoth” sent me to look that up and I found that the Thoth Tarot is a “divinatory tarot deck painted by Lady Frieda Harris according to instructions from Aleister Crowley.”
I had never heard of Aleister Crowley until I recently watched the TV show “Strange Angel” about Jack Parsons and the founding of CalTech.
The lion is Epstein. The girl is one of his victims.
In Epsteins' twisted mind, he believed these young girls were actually drawn to his power and embraced him and 'loved' him.
The girl doesn't 'love' him. She's scared of him but has to embrace him because she's powerless and can't escape and all she can do is cling to him for protection.
Epstein was on a power trip.
He believed he could impregnate 20 women at one time??

You are correct, of course.
But in my fantastical interpretive vision the painting is a quasi-surrealistic mirror-reversal of the “gaze,” or as Jacques Lacan would say, in psychoanalytic terms, a non-diegetic and therefore non-threatening power-play between cuckold viewer / owner and imagined innocent victim... All of which indicates, to me, ultimately, that upon seeing such a work at Goodwill, for, say, $10, I would indeed take a moment to gauge the value of the frame.
That’s funny in a really creepy way...
