In the early 2000s I worked in the graphics dept of an investment bank in Manhattan.

It was 40 liberals, me and one libertarian :)

We argued NON STOP but at the end of some shifts, we’d sign out and go for drinks or to hear a band or go to a club and have a great time.

Yeah they were left but they weren’t THIS kind of left.

And when I got sick, they were VERY generous to me with money and gifts.

That couldn’t happen today.

But then, this whole trannie nonsense and cisgender crap wasn’t around yet.

And other insanity that has mostly broken out over the last decade or so.

People say "oh, you can't let politics kill a friendship" but why would I want to be friends with people who are actively seeking to destroy the foundations of this country, who support politicians and fund celebrities who want to (quite literally) erase me and my "type" from the map? It's nearly impossible for me anymore to separate someone's politics from who they are as a person/citizen. The days of everyone "just wanting a better world for their children" are over and they are never coming back. Awful stuff.
