KMFORGET : A program where stories planted by the agency in one country would be clipped and mailed to media in other countries, and such efforts enhanced the likelihood that the stories would be seen by an American correspondent and transmitted home.

This kind of maneuver designed to propagandize one’s own citizens - even when the source is accurate - is known as “white propaganda”. “Grey propaganda” is when the story is false but the source is unclear. “Black propaganda” is when the story is false and the source is one’s adversary.
