Yeah, and Trump initially took on John Lewis from Georgia. This was from January 24th, 2017:
….Trump struck back on Twitter, saying that Lewis needed to focus on his congressional district in Georgia, “which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results.”
Trump said Lewis is “All talk, talk, talk — no action or results.”
I live in the Atlanta Metro area, and nearly everyone had the vapors when Trump fought back. “How dare he criticize and icon of the civil rights movement.!!!!”
Trump is setting the example and in reality already has it established that you CAN go after legitimate targets with criticism and go on to live another day...actually gain support with the “about damned time” crowd.
Some Republicans are seeing this and adopting some boldness. Alas, we still have too many squishes.
