The Renaissance predated the printing press by about 150 years.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This is ridiculous; but I'll answer one time with a few dates.

In 1452, Gutenberg produced the one book to come out of his shop: a Bible. It’s estimated he printed 180 copies of the 1,300-paged Bible.

Leonardo's earliest known dated work 1473

Most art historians state that the High Renaissance started around 1495 or 1500 and ended in 1520 with the death of Raphael.

Copernicus heliocentric theory published 1543

Columbus first voyage 1492.

In 1633, the Inquisition of the Roman Catholic Church forced Galileo Galilei, one of the founders of modern science, to recant his theory that the Earth moves around the Sun.

Scholars generally consider the Renaissance to be 1300 - 1600, it started 150 years before Gutenberg, he did not 'spark' it.

Galileo was asked to not teach as fact what could not then be proven by the scientific method, he was asked to teach it as a theory. Read the court transcripts.

Thank You for responding to that nonsensical assertion regarding the Renaissance preceding the Gutenberg Press. I just prefer to avoid conflict or something. It was driving me a bit stupid for a while.
