Personally, I disagree with the “God given” part.
To me, that’s a cop out. Nothing is given. Not by God, not by government. The only rights we have are those we are willing to fight to take hold of and fight to keep.
When we became unwilling to fight to keep those rights, they passed from us to those willing to fight to take them from us. And now, in reality, we only have the words, not the rights.
Inalienable.... to remove them is to remove a part of the individual... inherent in a persons existence... unable to be separated from... no one has an ability to separate from another an inalienable right... the individual must either forgo the right, lose the right thru adjudication of a wrong, or have it illegally torn from them upon which case a remedy to correct is expected, just and right.
OTOH, the Founders recognized that gov'ts didn't originate 'rights' they were part of the individual once he had life. At the time God gave life, although He still does, the rights of an individual still attach to him @ life. YMMV. I agree that we will only retain those rights we fight to possess. May God gives us the strength to do so and not waver in the face of the evil one and his earthly minions.
Thanks.
I don’t disagree about the fight
I’ve always believed in God given. The Founders did and started the fight for them.
The problem is we are too far removed from that. Nobody talks like that anymore.
Right now the left is emboldened because of what they perceive\see is fear\no reprisal from the right.
A day of reckoning is at hand and something is going to give...can’t keep poking a sleeping bear...
Well you're wrong.
That's all.
(Take it up with the founders)

You’re right. It’s not scriptural. God given rights are not scriptural but are a social construct. America presumes it’s own blessing of God.
It makes sense that a Christian nation discovered by the Christians would seek and write Rights for their nation, in a Constitution and a Bill of Rights, but realistically that nation may become no longer a Christian nation and these documents can be made obsolete. And, presently they are becoming problematic to the Godless.
Back to God though, God speaks, “ If MY PEOPLE will humble themselves, repent of their wicked ways and pray, then I will hear and I will heal your land”. He was not talking to a nation, or the Joe Schmoes who don’t care about God, short of a car wreck, but to only HIS People. The Church. The New Testament speaks all about the Church, as being His people, and not so much about Israel, thus, we have the teaching on the Gentiles being grafted in to make the Jews “jealous”.
The Church has not Repented.
Christians knew about borders though, and God set the very borders for Israel, instructing them to where go in and take the land, destroy those in it, and possess the land for themselves, as HIS people. So God gave physical boundaries to the Jews. Before that there was a Family, Abrams family, later to be named Abraham, then there was a Tribe, until they became a people and a state and a nation..
.......The following is from DanielPassini.org:
Clement of Alexandria put it this way in the early third century: “But when one joins God’s people, one has a different country (Heaven) and a different lawgiver (God).”
Phillipians puts it this way: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ — Phillipians 3:20
Pierre de Labriolle said, “... Christians are hybrid people. They are paroikoi, resident aliens, living locally and participating in society, but not as full citizens.” —
“Once we become followers of Christ we have renounced our citizenship to this world and its systems.” .......
