Not every state requires a check for private sales.

Many states allow private sales.

This would make those illegal.

THAT’s the problem.

EVERY sale would be recorded by the feds.

Which is EXACTLY why the libs are lathered up over ‘background checks’.

I’m sorry your state is a defacto registration entity. Not all of us live in those nor do we want to live in one.

Here’s the problem they would face.

Feds can only regulate trade between the States.
Buying your neighbors gun is a private transaction, akin to purchasing a coffee-table at a yard sale.
And, what is done about gifted firearms? MY SIL gave me his GFs Browning 16.
It’s gonna be a cluster folks.
