I think I've found a solution to several major problems in the U.S. By far the largest greenhouse gas is water vapor, 86-90% according to the EPA. I propose we build giant dehydrators on the site of crumbling U.S. cities. The dehydrators would suck water vapor out of the atmosphere which would be piped to marginally productive lands and used to irrigate giant fields of Ponderosa pines, a tree exceptionally good at using carbon dioxide. People in the affected cities who are qualified would be kept in place to maintain the dehydrators. The others would be transported to the new tree farms to tend to the pines. Thus, we reduce the two greatest greenhouse gases, water vapor and carbon dioxide, in one swell foop and at the same time make constructive use of some of our most mismanaged real estate.
First there would have to be ‘agw’ that needed solving.
Better idea:
Everyone who thinks CO2 is a dangerous pollutant stop exhaling it.
Problem solved overnight.
Make more ice cubes . . . water is free, right?
Sounds very promising! The only fly in the ointment of your plan would be all the poor abandoned 'Rats in those cities. Where do they go? What do they do for food and activity?
Wow! And we could use the water en route to the tree farms to drive turbines to supply electricity.
Extinguish the sun.
Problem solved immediately.
All vanities that touch on the subject of energy must have a checkbox certifying poster has never gotten any closer to a high school physics classroom than walking down the hall on the way to the dean’s office.
Imaginary problems are solved by ignoring them.
No, we just need to send the global changists to the sun one night to adjust the thermostat.
We had better act fast or it will be too late again.
What a fabulous idea!!! May I suggest also removing ALL blacktop from every road and parking lot everywhere to reduce temperatures?
To condense one gallon of water requires 2,368 watt hours of electrical energy. Where does that come from?
For crying out loud! Global warming is caused by illegal aliens. Deport them and problem solved.
Already been done!
Read “Colossus and the Crab” by DF Jones.
Actually need to read the complete trilogy as the “Crab” completes the first 2 novels.
“By far the largest greenhouse gas is water vapor, 86-90% according to the EPA”
The greenhouse effect is a warming of the earth. As the earth warms, more water will be evaporated from the oceans and elsewhere, which will increase the greenhouse effect. Sounds bad but Wikipedia doesn’t talk about that. They basically ignore water vapor.
A warmer earth makes plants more active, which eats up carbon dioxide (the most feared greenhouse gas) and produces oxygen. The global warming worriers don’t talk about that.
The global warming worriers also don’t talk about good things that certainly would result from a warming of the earth.
As far as water vapor is concerned, I disagree with the writer. There’s nothing we can do to reduce it and also it’s nothing to worry about.
You could build thousands of tiny turbines, each hooked up to a hamster wheel, to power the dehydrators. If there aren’t enough hamsters, use the rats that are plentiful in every crumbling city.
or just use the children ... their energy seems unlimited ... at least until bedtime ...
Better better plan.....PLANT A TREE! Repeat several hundred million times!
“By far the largest greenhouse gas is water vapor, 86-90% according to the EPA. “
Let’s run with that. My solution is to clean up every polluted river in the world. The 10 most polluted rivers as of 2019 are:
1. Ganges
2. Citarum
3. Yellow
4. Sarno
5. Buriganga
6. Marilao River
7. Mississippi
8. Jordan
9. Matanza
10. Yamuna
Get those clean. We have the technology to remove all the crap from the rivers. However, we will also need to clean the water. Therefore my proposal would be to build Desalination facilities along the coasts, construct pipelines to take clean water to the rivers as well as to inland populaces that presently do not have clean water for drinking.
From this, we would see new economies coming to life as food can now be grown as well as new forests appearing. For the pipelines I would go so far as to say that if you create pipelines that use its outer surface as solar collection vehicles and put transformers near them, you can also power cities.
This can all be done for under 1 trillion dollars, which we would collect from the IMF and countries that are impacted by this. Let India and China pay for their problems.
