Shooting accurately is muscle memory from practice. Video games either use a keyboard and mouse, or joystick/controller. Neither combo will impart the necessary muscle memory for accurate shooting.
Some of the most popular shooter games back then used pistol shape controllers or you controlled a pointing pistol with a joystick.
