At the time it didn’t seem odd to be because I am accustomed to seeing people with rifles and ear protection.
But what if it wasn’t ear protection and instead it was a receiver for instructions? A little bit far out as a theory, but not outside the realm of possibility.

Nothing is out of the realm of possibility in these interesting times.
In a previous life, we had something called “Wolf’s Ears” which were muff headphone like this chucklehead was wearing. The electronics allowed normal conversation yet would suppress gunfire sounds. They worked great and protected your hearing while allowing you to hear instructions on the range or while doing tactical shooting drills. Now I want to find out what this idiot was wearing..
