They were not playing dodgeball. They were playing “tips.”
In “tips,” the ball is tossed in the air (not thrown at anyone), as per the report.
Also, the report gives more details about the incident: The 10yo boy is alleged to have thrown the ball directly at the other boy when he wasn’t looking, and he’s alleged to have said, “That’s what [?] gets.”
The 10yo boy is just a kid. Sometimes kids bully each other.
The adults are supposed to step in. If the school had handled the situation, the mother probably wouldn’t have contacted the police.
FWIW, my boys’ favorite gym class game was dodgeball. So, I’m not a critic of dodgeball.
Again, this wasn’t a dodgeball game. This was a bullying incident.
And, P.S., it doesn’t matter what skin color the boys had.
