The late Christopher Hitchens wrote an entire book about Mother Theresa, and I think it was pretty critical. Hitchens besides being an old-school leftist was an outspoken atheist, so that's probably a big factor in the book.

He supported the invasion of Iraq by Bush on the grounds that Leftists are supposed to support legitimate national liberation movements, and if getting rid of Saddam wasn't that, then nothing was. He was fired by The Nation magazine, where he'd had a monthly column for years over this position.

So, despite having a lot of political positions I disagree with I think he was a man of some integrity. (Those have all but disappeared from the Left now.)

He's a worthwhile writer but I never read the book on Mother Theresa. But, if you want info on her, I'm sure it's the Mother Load. (ahh, couldn't help it)

Christopher Hitchens despised Mother Theresa, and was an avowed athiest. His brother Peter was a practicing Catholic, in the faith they were both raised.

Who knows what Christopher was, after humbled by his death bed.

John Wayne became Catholic during his final days, on his death bed, so anything can happen.
