Ryan Leaf, the former Washington State quarterback and No. 2 NFL Draft pick whose career was plagued by drug addiction and who served time in prison, joined ESPN as a college football analyst.

Like we don’t have enough winners who can do the job.
Read the headline and immediately thought, “What could go wrong?”
Forgot to ping y’all.

I refuse to tune to leftist ESPN. even when a baseball game I really want to watch is on. Ill listen on the radio. (As long as its not ESPN radio)
Leaf is a shaky choice (mic drop).
I’m surprised that he’s still alive. I used to hear so much bad news about R. Leaf, year after year.
One of those people who seemed like a trouble magnet.
Vegas must have an over/under on the number of games before Leaf cusses out his broadcast partner and storms out of the booth.
I know! It’s an SNL script that writes itself.
Planning session:
Producers to writers: “Let’s brainstorm. Whatchoogot fellers?”
Writers: “Let’s have the pre-show announcers do a short run at Trump’s mental incapacity.
Producers: “Brilliant! So we’ll alienate better than 50% of our viewers, right? Even better would be to call Melania “plain”. Gitterdun, boys!”
Or, an “orange Julius” melt down on air!
I vote that we replace "mic drop" with "fingernails across the chalkboard." It has the same psychological effect, without implying malicious damage to someone else's expensive precision equipment.
How about we just dispense with making self-declared “pithy” statements and assigning ourselves a “(mic drop)” as if everyone else around here should agree with it?
He mussa run out of all that signing money he made out of college and needs a job
The author refers to Leaf’s NFL “career.” That’s generous — parts of two seasons with the Chargers and a few games with the Cowboys.
I hear they’re going to start making rubber microphones if everyone’s dropping them after making a slam-dunk rhetorical point.
All seriousness aside, though: don’t you agree Leaf is shaky?
Dude needs a job?
He oughta axe that Madonna chick.
I hear she just GIVING jobs away.
I believe Mel Kiper said the Colts were making a huge mistake by picking Peyton Manning over Leaf.
By all accounts, Ryan Leaf turned his life around and has lectured to young audiences to learn from his mistakes.
Pretty impressive to have one of the all time falls from grace and survive.
Sometimes young people do grow up and become better people. But yeah let’s keep piling on him..thought FReepers were better than that
This asshole when he was playing briefly was popping of at a bar bragging about how rich he was and how he could buy this guys parents. The guy looked at him and said “yeah maybe so but you can’t seem to buy a first down - whole bar errupted in laughter at Ryan, he was mad -nobody liked this guy ever. What a dick
