MORE ON: BLACKOUT
Broadway went dark, but stars still shine on the sidewalks
Con Edison has yet to figure out why a large swath of Manhattans West Side was plunged into darkness by the blackout that lasted more than five hours on Saturday night.
In a statement released late Sunday morning, the power company said it will be conducting a diligent and vigorous investigation to determine the root cause of the incident.
Over the next several days and weeks, our engineers and planners will carefully examine the data and equipment performance relating to this event, and will share our findings with regulators and the public, the company said.
Con Ed spokesman Alfonso Quiroz blamed the blackout on a disruption on the transmission side of the companys power grid.
Con Eds overhead transmission lines carry 438,000 volts of electricity to substations where the power is lowered to about 13,000 volts before being distributed to homes and businesses, he said.
Officials initially suspected a manhole fire that affected an underground transformer, but Quiroz said theres no evidence of a fire at this point.

Despite the inclination to think this is Epstein-related, ConEd needs to do some deep diving in their software.
This could be more than just coincidence with the current “news” happening in NY.

Q1440: "BLACKOUT NECESSARY"
"West 42nd St. to West 71st St, Fifth Avenue to the river."
Now, Fifth avenue is on the East side bordering Central Park which begins there on 57 or 59th street. The park had to be dark also. Anything happening there? Then there's the Lincoln tunnel and Port Authority. Was someone escaping or being deported to NJ?
