I would like to go further about making clarifications I found that could apply to 45’s statement about JE.

Allegedly 45 tweeted about JE.

President Trump’s comment “‘I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.’ - Donald Trump, 2002” The quote is from a 2002 New York Magazine profile of Epstein.

We all know what a Word Master 45 is, even way, way back I believe this to be true.

So I went to the etymology dictionary and looked up the words terrific and fun and found the following alternative meanings:

terrific - 1660’s, frightening, from Latin terrificus “causing terror or fear, frightful,” from terrere “fill with fear”.

fun - “diversion, amusement, mirthful sport,” 1727, earlier, “a cheat, trick” )c.1700), from verb fun (1680s) “to cheat, hoax, which is of uncertain origin, probably a variant of Middle English fonnen “befool” (c.1400; fond).

So terrific can mean to cause terror, fear.

Fun can also mean cheat, trick, hoax.

I guess it really does depend on what the meaning of is is.
