Thanks!
I was just crying this AM thinking about trying to call a doctor. Then I called one in Abilene, their office was closed Friday when I had tried to call. He takes my insurance, even though BCBS had told me the closest one in my network was in San Antonio. I personally went to my PCP and wouldn’t leave until they called in the referral. So I have an appointment next Monday, close enough for a day trip.
Praise the Lord!

So happy for you Rusty. Your primary care doctor should have given you a referral and the HMO should have told you all the doctors who accept your HMO.
I am finding that even though we pay top premium for our supplement plan F (Blue Cross) which says we can go to any doctor we want, the specialist doctors want referrals from the PCD.
There are very few PRIVATE doctors left anymore. They are all affiliated with hospitals.
