Speaking of saving / archiving material, Bob Ireland and I were recently having a discussion about archiving techniques. He was suggesting some approaches which I was unable to do, because he is familiar with PC, and I’m on a Mac.
Nevertheless, I decided to hunt and see if I could find some kind of corresponding techniques regarding what he was suggesting. I didn’t, but I did find something that has helped me grab documents from my browser much more easily. I do not know if PCs will do this, but you Mac people out there for sure can do this:
When you find a web page/article which catches your interest, in MOST cases (not all) it is possible to go to the Safari “file” menu drop-down =>Export as PDF. You will be given a drop down save menu. Select the name of the document and tell it which file to put it in.
I can’t do it in every case, but there have actually been times when I’ve been able to save tweets. When it works, it saves me a lot of cut and paste tedium.
