Naaah. Daddy/mommy were political activists and chose to live with their peeps.
The optics looked like to me was a “black” “woman” primping up with emotion as she told of her success of becoming a US senator as a result of a progressive idea of busing for integration while the old white man, though she said he wasn’t a racist, held firm to the old regressive, oppressive idea of anti-busing.
The only thing that could have made that scene better would have been she “came out” about being gay and/or wearing a t-shirt with a picture of the drowned person of color and his child who perished in their struggle from oppression just wanting sweet freedom and a better life for his chile.
Plenty of time to Nov 2020 though. Save ammo.
