Organizers of an annual conference that brings together people who believe that the Earth is flat are planning a cruise to the purported edge of the planet. They're looking for the ice wall that holds back the oceans.
The journey will take place in 2020, the Flat Earth International Conference (FEIC) recently announced on its website. The goal? To test so-called flat-Earthers' assertion that Earth is a flattened disk surrounded at its edge by a towering wall of ice.
Believers in a flat Earth argue that images showing a curved horizon are fake and that photos of a round Earth from space are part of a vast conspiracy perpetrated by NASA and other space agencies to hide Earth's flatness. These and other flat-Earth assertions appear on the website of the Flat Earth Society (FES), allegedly the world's oldest official flat Earth organization, dating to the early 1800s.
Whether or not the FEIC cruise will rely on GPS or deploy an entirely new flat-Earth-based navigation system for finding the end of the world, remains to be seen.

This is a good summary of Foucalt’s Pendulum and what was believed at the time of the experiment from both supporters and skeptics. A fan of Foucault’s work was quite disturbed with the anomalies and inconsistencies of the pendulum’s performance. He went to talk with Professor Humboldt to get his input:

If the camera can see it then the object is not really below the horizon.

Umm, no, that’s a flat earther website offering only sources to support that position, and some quite deceptively. For example, pretending that having to use a motor or magnet to counteract air resistance has something to do with the actual phenomenon that the pendulum demonstrates, when in reality it is just a necessity since we cannot construct perpetual motion machines.
They don't universally, investigate for yourself. Not saying they don't, just saying they appear to need help getting the predicted result.
There are many puzzling thing that are universally accepted that I don't whole heartedly accept any more.
Cavendish established the universal continent for Gravity over 200 years ago and no one has ever repeated that experiment although we surely have better technology than existed then. We have calculated repeatedly almost every other physical constant, but not that one. In fact the speed of light seems to be slowing down or we are just getting it wrong. Just thing that make me go Hmmnn.
I can remember well the first pictures of the moon landing and have had a hard time believing that those flimsy space suits could protect the astronauts and yet have wrinkles on them. Just the heating and cooling alone would seem to require more energy than they could carry.

If they don’t, then the experiment wasn’t set up properly. It’s not like this experiment hasn’t been duplicated countless times.
Besides, if you doubt Focault’s pendulum, there’s an even easier experiment that requires no fancy setup or electric motors, etc. Just get a basin of water and poke a hole in the bottom to demonstrate the coriolis effect. Then try to explain that away with a flat earth model (including why the water swirls in opposite directions depending on the hemisphere).
Exactly, but that defies the mathematics. Curve is 8 inches per mile squared, so the earth either has to be very lumpy or we don't know what size we are.
Lot of evidence to the contrary of that claim. Watched a lot of videos of kids on the equator scamming people with there demonstrations. Fun stuff.
Alright, then explain the difference in direction of hurricanes/tornados/typhoons in each hemisphere? How can a flat earth model account for that? Or the patterns of trade winds and why they run in bands moving in opposite directions corresponding to latitude?
Wait...did you actually look at why the live video feed from the moon was the way it was? The website was quite complete. Do you agree with it? ANd what about the hi res images actually carried back to earth?
I m not arguing that the earth inflate, I am saying there are genuine questions the flat earth's are asking that need better explanations. Ridicule is cute but not an answer.

Meh, they won’t accept any explanations that are given to them, they just start saying that any evidence they can’t explain is a hoax created by NASA. We even see that on this thread.
Are you factoring in the refraction of light caused by the atmosphere?
The do accept genuine answers, at least some of them do but they don't always answer the questions, they pretend the other guys are just stupid and ignore them or claim facts are facts because they say so.
Why does the earth appear to be the same relative size from the moon as the moon does from earth?
Since the moon always present the same face to the earth sort of like a ball on a string why would the earth appear any where except directly over head from near the center of the moon face?

That is there first excuse but it doesn't hold up to infrared. The thing that they never consider is the limitation of eyesight itself. We can only see so far down a railroad rack until the parallel tracks converge. Pick up some good optics and they separate again.
These guys have all found the excellent optics on the P900 and P1000 cameras and started taking some cool pictures of things that have apparently disappeared over the horizon when in fact they are just out of eyesight range else you couldn't bring them back up. I haven't looked lately to see what they have been doing with Infrared, need to go catch up a little.
I am no expert nor do I claim to be, I just pointed out that not everyone agrees with you or them.

Let's review. You posted a link to a youtube video that made the assertion that the moon landing was faked. Part of the "evidence" was the grainy black and white tv transmission. The video implied that they didn't want anyone to see how it was being faked.
In response I search the internet for 5 minutes looking for the technical details of the photography and video capabilities of Apollo 11. I found a great website that explained in detail WHY the video was black and white and grainy. It was about bandwidth. It was deemed too dangerous to devote too much bandwidth to video because they were essentially transmitting and receiving ALL data over a single carrier.
It was a clear and logical explanation that involved an an explanation of the mission parameters and the technological capabilities.
In response to ALL that you buried your head back into youtube conspiracy videos. You presented no thoughts of your own. You presented no scientific evidence refuting a single thing on the website.
We have been deceived by the most intelligent of Gods Cherubs.

That same team shot a fixed laser at a boat and the laser gained altitude on the side of the boat as the boat gained distance from the shore-moving from 2’ above the water line at the shore to more than 12’ above the boat several miles away. This stuff is pretty simple actually.
