President Donald Trump revealed his design this week for a new Air Force One, showing off a set of drawings in the Oval Office that replace the Kennedy-era light blue paint job with a more masculine red, white and black.
The current livery is dominated by blue, the color of the Democratic Party. Trumps re-do has splashes of Republican red.
The result resembles the color scheme of Trumps personal Boeing 757, which 2016 campaign crowds called Trump Force One.
We had different choices, here, Trump told ABC News, saying that he had come up with the design concepts himself. Artists renderings show variations in the color of the engines and the depth of the underbellys dark tones.

You missed a spot :)
The socialists need to go suck the big one.
They’re having kittens over a red stripe. Which will tell you all you need to know about how serious the Democrat House is about legislating. “What did you accomplish?” “Why, we kept Trump from painting a red stripe on an airplane.” Cue the confetti.
To me the currentp powder-blue scheme is iconic, while the dark blue and red looks like USAirways or some other commercial airline colors.
But so it goes. Of course, it is unfortunate if such issues are soaking up our POTUS’s time and attention.
LOL — spot on
Yeah...sort of like the flat black they use for the B-52 bombers.
I kinda like the new AF1 color scheme, but I'm still more partial to the existing scheme, which has been around since I was in grade school.
The current color scheme makes AF-1 look like a Plane meant to carry a U.N. Delegation on their way to Iran to commence groveling.
It should be painted the colors of Old Glory, period.
You're too stuck on symbology, friend. It's just colors.
AF1 has had that iconic color scheme for almost 60 years. It's come to represent our country, for better or worse.
I've personally always liked it.
Well, we will have to disagree on that.
I never cared for the baby blue Color Scheme.
Maybe they should paint it Camo.
The Flying Tiger has a history with the CIA. Perhaps someone on FR could fill us in on that history.
BTW, the dark under belly of AF-1 may have some of that flat-black stealth paint that might protect the plane from surface to air missiles.
this is great get the dems to waste there time trying to demonize a color schema for air force one.....this will occupy the efforts of the demacrat party while Trump gets things done. One would think this might be a troll to keep dems busy harassing trump in an area that is meaningless long term.
Did Jackie have to get her design approved by congress?
The all-accomplished, all-talented congress strikes again. They are experts at everything - health care, economics, aircraft design - what can't they do?
And the Polish and Indonesian flags.
Iconic to whom? Wouldn't that be a generational thing? What did it look like before Jackie re-designed?
There was a short period of time when I was in 4th grade when I dotted my i's with a little circle. Then I grew up a little.
I think the new design is classy, sophisticated and looks grown-up.
Time to move on and grow up.
They prefer the color in the center:
The current scheme is a jackie kennedy inspired deal apparently.
That’s a myth, it was designed by Raymond Loewy in red and gold. JFK liked it, but wanted blue hues instead as it was his favorite color. Jackie worked with Loewy to design the interior (but only for the original 707 version).
Incidentally, the article shows a 1975 Postal service jeep, that livery was also designed by Loewy, as well as the Postal Service logo.
