Best part is the Brit who is told to take a bridge and “hold until relieved”
Right before Intermission Peter Lawford shows up with a bagpipe, and the echo thought voice inside the Brit’s head says “hold until relieved”
Of course that was back in the day when people didn’t stream in and out of the theater all through the film’s showing.
The best scene is where the German Colonel looks and sees the fleet arriving and knows his goose is cooked.

The young Robert Wagner cast as a Ranger at Pont Du Hoc realizing that the German guns they have fought and died getting to are telephone poles.
Robert Mitchum playing BG Norm Cota rallying 29th ID soldiers off the beaches.
Or when the British padre, all soaking wet, is told he landed on the German side he says “Sir, anyone can make a mistake!’’.
