Heard this today...His mother was born in Scotland and always revered England.
This is well known and true!
His mother didn’t leave Scotland till her early 20’s or late teens.....she was born on an island in the Hebrides
Never met a Scot that ‘revered England’. Britain and the Union maybe if they aren’t nationalists. They really get very grumpy at being called English, even the Unionists.
The Northern Irish are even worse judging by my interactions with them. They aren’t any more fond of us than their Republican counterparts. They view us as aloof and detatched from them (which is kind of true, many of us wonder why they can’t just reunite with the rest of Ireland and go on their merry way, which annoys the hell out of them). They only suffer us because they prefer being our compatriots to being compatriots of their southern neighbours for historic reasons.
