I think there are lots of connections we don't know about yet. Until it comes out though, smoke and no fire. Raniere and his harpies sat at Gillibrand's table for a fundraiser for hillary for heavens' sake! NXIVM bundled tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars (illegally) for Kristen and the Beast.
