A top New York State top business group backs legislation giving drivers licenses to illegal immigrants claiming it will be a boon to the economy.
This is the law in 12 states and its been beneficial to those states economies, Heather Briccetti, CEO of the Business Council of New York, told reporters Wednesday.

Of course it is. What are you gonna do about it? What can you do about it? Nothing, that’s what.
They’ll talk out their ass to fool the mouth breathers, nobody with a lick of sense believes anything they say.
Who is “we” Kemosabe?
This group and. All their members need to be declared a subversive organization, it should be disbanded and members charged with Treason.
“And has been beneficial to employers paying cheap illegal immigrant wages”
Oh yeah its been so good everywhere the idiots have done this. Friday night DUI Mexicans killing folks!! All for the right of these evil people to exploit the illegals!!
If they are here and not being removed, they should have to pass any test that a citizen must pass in order to drive. There should be a special category of license which solely indicates that the bearer is sufficiently competent to drive. In-person appearance should be required to apply, no mail service other than notices to appear.
Now for the sweet part: Illegals driving without it would be immediately deported. And all those who applied have admitted to their illegal status, making them easier to locate. Any misstatement on the application (address of residence in particular) would also result in immediate deportation, as would failure to notify of new address if moving and insurance status.
They should not be allowed to drive!!!!
They should be sent back home, too, but since it ain’t happening and they will drive anyway, isn’t it safer for the rest of us if those who do so are tested and found competent?
Yes, by all means lets make life comfortable for the ticks and leaches invading the US. You are a fool. An idiot.
Congress should pass a bill that requires vehicle insurance providers to verify the legal status of applicants. If they provide insurance to illegals, they should be heavily fined and charged with aiding and abetting lawbreakers.
In Texas, the vehicle insurance info is input to TX DOT and is accessible by all LEO agencies. If a person purchases the insurance just to get a license plate (for example) and then cancels it a month later that cancellation is sent to the DOT. If a LEO pulls someone over for even a minor reason, they can check the DOT and find if the insurance is valid or not, BEFORE they even walk to the stopped vehicle. ....I’m betting CA and NY plus many other States don’t have that cancellation data available to LEOs.
“Im not particularly upset with giving them licenses they are driving anyway, and this way we can make sure they understand the laws of driving, not that we can expect them to follow those laws either.”
How does the illegal pay for insurance?
Tax that income and prosecute the employer before there is any discussion of licenses.
Ok, let's keep life unsafe for citizens by not having them qualify, and let's have one way less to remove them for cause (other than their initial entry).
I said: Any misstatement on the application (address of residence in particular) would also result in immediate deportation, as would failure to notify of new address if moving and insurance status.
The Government of the United States of America, and it’s citizens.
i think that probably applies to most people here.
But I do realize that some people are opposed to arresting illegal immigrants. Just don’t expect to see many of them on this forum.
My point is you said “we”, and the government is now essentially “they”, and “they” aren’t having any of it. If you hadn’t noticed.
Don’t get tens of millions of squatters setting up shop over the course of decades, preferential treatment, etc etc by accident or simple oversight. This has been a carefully calculated, incremental step by step thing.
“Congress should pass a bill ...”
The problems we face are not due to a lack of laws. It’s completely out of control.
