Basic rule of thumb says that if it’s in the NYT it’s fake.

Just curious, what is the fake part? Are the names of these pilots fake? Are their comments fake? Is the video/audio from cameras on the aircraft fake?

Rules of thumb aren’t that specific.

I see, so I can only assume you have no independent thought regarding this story/video being fake.

Btw, what if I were to tell you this was not only reported by the NYT, but was reported widely by multiple media sources, including the international media.

Actually, I never said what I thought. I only said what the “rule of thumb” indicated. Maybe you should try applying some of that magical independent thought to things you read.
