One old article:

Trumps inaugural outfit was patriotic red, white, and blue and entirely befitting his new leadership position. Most of the time, though, the president opts to wear Italian-made suits by Brioni. As reported in The Cheat Sheet earlier this year, Trumps familiarity with the Brioni label goes all the way back to 2004, when the Italian design house provided his wardrobe for The Apprentice. These days, the Donald says he buys his Brioni suits off the rack like anyone else.
Anyone else who can afford to shell out thousands for a single suit that is. Brioni suits are gorgeous, but theyre also outrageously expensive. A Brooks Brothers suit will set a man back around $1,000. According to mens clothier, Ezra Paul, the price of an off-the-rack Brioni suit starts at around $5,000. If that same Brioni suit was custom tailored to a perfect fit, it might cost upwards of $8,000.
Trump campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, told the New York Times that candidate Trump typically donned Brioni suits on the campaign trail, but the presidential hopeful also appeared in some custom-made suits from Martin Greenfield Clothiers of Brooklyn. Impeccably-tailored Martin Greenfield suits are also preferred by such notables as President Obama and erstwhile New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
Garment prices at the Martin Greenfield Clothiers online store range from around $300 for a pair of linen trousers to nearly $1,300 for a navy blue Chelsea two-piece suit. The clothier offers several dressy tuxedo styles for approximately the same price. Interestingly, a two-piece wool suit with the Donald Trump label goes for less than $150 on Amazon.

Actually, what bothered me about the picture was that his suit was wrinkled around the chest pocket.

But it’s not all about fit. He doesn’t take great care of his suits, either. He often wears them wrinkled, an effect likely increased by the lighter fabrics he prefers to wear, as bespoke suit maker Edward Sexton told Jezebel.

He wears off-the-rack, Brioni almost all the time. I read he only owns two suits that arent Brioni - and these were made by a small Brooklyn tailor
Brioni suits are very expensive. About as expensive as you can get. More than twice as expensive as Armani. Even an off-the-rack Brioni is about $6000. A bespoke Brinoni is about $20,000.
So, for comparison, an off-the-rack Brioni is more expensive than a bespoke Saville Row suit.
As for ties, again, he only sticks to a few trusted brands. He exclusively either wears Armani ties, or his own brand.
So why does Donald Trump wear off-the-rack rather than bespoke? Well, hes a businessman. He probably doesnt think a hand made suit is worth 3x the price of their off-the-rack selection.
Secondly, hes a very large man. Hes 6’3 and 280 pounds. He probably just prefers looser fitting/baggy suits. And there is literally no point in buying a bespoke, baggy suit! The whole point of bespoke tailoriing, is its a very tight/neat/clean fit.
I also suspect he has them altered. It looks like he wears large shoulderpads, which you wouldnt get in a Brioni suit. This is probably because he started wearing suits in the 70s, and 80s, and people tend to like to stick to a particular style. Shoulder pads also help big men to look slimmer - giving their body a symmetry.
To conclude, he basically likes wearing very expensive, but ill fitting suits. Why? Probably because of his size/weight. And the fact that he wears them almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and probably wants the comfort
Is it tommorow already? Wow and thankQ.
I’m betting his suits have space for a Kevlar vest beneath his shirt.
It would not surprise me at all if some of his fashion choices/issues are safety-related. I hope so.
I have a sense he’s put on some weight since he’s been pres.
