Israel controls the Old City, but the Temple Mount was handed back to Muslim control when the shooting had barely stopped back in 1967. Tell me if I’m wrong. That’s why it’s dangerous for Jews to set foot in it to this day.

I don't go up to the Temple Mount, but I'm pretty sure the IDF (or Israeli Police) patrol it and enforce rules established by the Muslim Waqf. As for danger, one of my cousins was discussing walking around up there (more than once). He didn't indicate that he had any problems. You just cannot pray or appear to be praying.

In accordance with Muslim rules, the IDF prevents Jews from praying on the Temple Mount. How ironic.
