Will the states be using the current metal value or only the stated Face value of the currency?

Since everyone always accepted these coins at face value, there would have been no need to announce anything.

Well, the question is why spend your 1 dollar silver coin for it’s face value—$1—when the silver content is approximately $16?

It only makes sense if you consider value of the the metal content instead of the face value.

Example. $17 to buy a coin with $1 face value.

The face amount makes it legal tender, but the silver content represents its actual value. Its good that states like Texas will have depositories for gold and silver, but what will their value be?
