Cookie Roberts is narrating this episode and she had talked a bit about the Moon landing. Then she said (paraphrased) during this trip to the Moon, there was a party going on at a house on Chappaquidick island, off the coast of Marthas Vineyard. This would turn out to be another tragedy for the Kennedys. And Im thinking a tragedy for the Kennedys??? WHAT ABOUT THE KOPECHNES???

Lots of overt PC nonsense, so I dumped it.

I saw it on the schedule, considered recording it, then promptly forgot. I was if they treat the story fairly. Obviously, not. Thanks for the heads-up.

I wonder if the Kennedy kids are all still on Venezuela's payroll? Asking for a friend.

In some small way, one could say Mary Jo Kopechne gave her life so we could be spared the threat of a Teddy Kennedy presidency. Way too big a price for a life, of course. RIP Mary Jo K.

I too am frustrated to hear of the tragedies of the Kennedys.
Some people think of the assassinations, and lump them in with events such as Chappaquiddick and the William Kennedy Smith rape case. To me, self inflicted wounds such as those cases should not generate sympathy for the Kennedys. If anything, they should generate revulsion at how Kennedy men treat women.

Don’t forget John Jr. His arrogance got his wife and sister killed, along with himself.
I watched the William Kennedy Smith trial. It was embarrassing.

I thought the recent Chappaquiddick movie was good and not overtly Leftist. Already another one of the narrators on this episode said I dont think anyone knows why it took 10 hours for this accident to be discovered. Clueless, still hard Leftist journolists.

Yeah, but the Kennedys are rulers, as opposed to Kopechne class peons.

Agreed 100%.
JFK's assassination was a tragedy for the American people.
Ted Kennedy getting drunk and killing a woman is not a "tragedy" for the Kennedy family.
Teddy was lucky he was't thrown in prison.

Cokie Roberts had some not very good words about Teddy later on in the show.

They did feature the diver that found Kopechne in the car. He stated he found her with her head tilted back, obviously trying to get the last bit of oxygen before suffocating. He was adamant that she didnt drown but suffocated. Oh, and the journolist who said the nobody knows claim is from Peoples Cover-up podcast. People. No surprise.

Also the show clearly pointed out that Teddy got away with murder and many of the people involved are still really angry about the corruption of justice.

I’ve seen all three episodes of “1969” that aired so far.
“The Moon Landing”
“The Manson Family”
“The Girl in the Car.”
