‘Flown behind the ships’. Those scorpion bows swivel so that wouldn’t work.
This was just an evening up of the odds. Get rid of a dragon and the Naath girl.
Next week, other useless sections will go. Expect the fleet to be destroyed, but not Euron who will survive. My guess is the dragon will come to them out of the water while everyone on the fleet is looking up.
Varys time is up.
Another guess: The Mountain kills the hound and Arya takes care of him. Jamie shoves a shiv in Cerci’s back.

This episode should be fairly quiet. Bury the dead, marshal the army that is left. Dragon girl has to figure out if she is fighting to win the throne for herself or for her boyfriend. How they can expect to defeat the 20k strong Golden Company without the little Mormont girl is beyond me....:)

Dragon Lady is getting crazier.

The Golden Company won't fight if they don't get paid. What happens if Dragon Lady takes out the Iron Bank?

The human army was on the brink of defeat, and all the Night King had to do was stay out of harms way.

You're right. Too much ego. If he had stayed behind and let the zombies kill everyone, he would have won.

I think, ultimately, if they win, Jon will pass the crown to Daenerys and Tyrion will stay The Right Hand. Jon will be “King” but largely a figurehead.

Problem is, Jon was ELECTED king by the various North clans. At the time, they thought he was a bastard with no birth rights to any crown. He is king because his followers CHOOSE to follow him. The same is true of Daenerys' leadership of the Unsullied and the rest.

That status is not transferable to another by a simple "bending of the knee".

The bank doesn’t own the Golden Company, they just employ them from time to time. But worth a try. Fly back to Bravos and torch the bank!

I think Melisandre (the red woman) means that Arya will kill someone with blue eyes is Cersei, not the night king. We’ll see.

“Dragon Lady is getting crazier.”

Dani is Targaryen. The Targaryen’s are crazy.

The golden company has already been paid.

There was no way Bronn was going to kill Jaime and Tyrion.

Cersei has green eyes. So the prophecy still stands. Fray had brown eyes, Night King had blue eyes. Brown, blue, green.

I stand corrected. I think Arya is going after Cersei.

I’m not sure if the writers will give one character the honor of killing the two main sources of evil in the series. But after the first four episodes, I wouldn’t put anything past these writers. Haha...

Not just HBO. HBO knew where Martin was going. Martin told them the outline of his book which is supposedly finished now btw.

They swivel and what? Fire through the sails and masts? Oh no,
Euron could have pivoted his super nuclear powered stealth fleet about and then shot the radar guided mussels. Aegis smeejus compared tomsoooper Euron’s ships.

I have no issue with WHO defeated the Night King... I have a huge issue with the garbage that you create an existential threat from the very first scene of the very first episode and 8 years later, this supposedly great and terrible threat is defeated in what is effectively its first real battle...

What nonsense. There was never any doubt that the Night King must be defeated, and would be, unless GOT was going for a 70’s fatalist ending... which I doubt. However, for this supposedly great threat, that has been biding his time for countless eons to return... And is utterly defeated, not after running roushod over man, forcing them to the brink .. but literally is beaten in its first contact of any note with humanity, makes the entire build up, well garbage....

BAD story telling... and honestly lazy as far as I’m concerned. Why build up some threat, a threat to all of humanity, only to pretty much utterly defeat it in its first battle?

As I said before, the Night King, now has the distinction of being the most overhyped villain in all of fantasy fiction.

Not to mention, many a lost opportunity within the battle for even more effect... Hiding in catacombs against an enemy that can raise the dead? And once those in the tombs are raised, what would make for more terror? That random rotted corpses of ancestors were randomly killing people, or that your own mother’s corpse is now trying to kill you?

There was a LOT of cheap/laziness/missed opportunity, even within the story that was put on screen for that Episode IMHO... but even if you put all that aside, the biggest issue was simply, you build up the enemy to end all enemies... and he gets utterly defeated in its first real battle.

GRRM is still two books from done with the story. He has finished, supposedly, the next to last.

If you can’t understand why Brienne was crying then nothing I say can be of use.

Sure, fire through the sails. Police fire through their windshields, when necessary.
Hell, she should have burnt the city before she even landed at Dragonstone, but hey, its just a story.

I have no idea, and after the nothingburger that was the Night King, really don’t care who ends up on the throne at this point...

Perhaps, they all die, Kings Landing is burned to the ground, Jon is reincarnated as the new Night King and the surviving “lords” start the battle to be king all over again......

Circle of life and all that....

Yes, Jon seems to have a moral compass, that nearly every character in the battle for the throne currently lacks... but he was reincarnated by the “Lord of Light” for a reason, we assume, not yet known. If anything the GOT has been useless in a lot of ways... we have this hidden puppet masters, who’s motivations are not known to man, Night King, Lord of Light, etc... so far it doesn’t really seem like much reveals are coming for any of it... so, they just come off as lazy plot devices.

I have an issue with both. I think the writers are lazy and telegraphing too much with the foreshadowing. This notion of Super Arya has painted them in a corner.

If she goes to King’s Landing now and fails to kill Cersi because Qyburn outsmarts her or Cersi hires her own faceless men or or or, it’s just dumb. Arya can kill the most existential threat to the living but not Cersi? Ok, that speaks to the point that you made about cheapening the entire story arc of the dead. If Cersi was truly the most dangerous, what was the entire Night King story? Was it a Macguffin? Hello Maltese Falcon.

If she kills Cersi, then one might ask, why have any other characters if this has digresses into a dark age version of Captain Marvel?

I stand by my overly long screws. The show runners are burned out and just wanted out.

Ohhhhh, great catch. Very telling. But I was thinking she already killed someone with green eyes. When the red woman was questioning her about the eyes of who she killed —but I could be wrong about her nodding yes. Will have to check it out again.
