It depends on where you are and what your size/age/condition is.
In my late 70s, bad shoulder, can't get physical BUT, where allowed I carry, so in those areas I will display/wear Trump gear.
In Maryland, nope, I can't take a chance on carrying in that insane state, so no Trump display.
I'd shoot if I'm in danger, but without a gun, I'm not suicidal.
In Maryland, we very often drive past a house that has in its yard a HUGE Trump sign with American flags poking out of it like a halo. Other than seeing the flags deteriorate from the weather, we have seen no evidence that the sign has ever been damaged. And the homeowner did replace the flags a few weeks ago. We also saw a young girl wearing a MAGA hat at the Air and Space museum in Chantilly, VA.
I think that the more people wear items to show support for Trump, the less likely leftists are to attack. The left's strongest weapon right now is that we are afraid to show ourselves, and the leftist narrative is that we are a handful of fringe kooks. We fight that by showing that we are numerous, and that all of their narratives are false.

I live in western Maryland, have three different Trump hats and wear them everywhere I go. I also sport a black T with George Carlin’s statement: “POLITICAL CORRECTNESS is America’s newest form of INTOLERANCE.” I’ve never been threatened but have had many people tell me they like my hat and shirt.
