Would love to see this movie remade as a colonoscopy.
Butt who could play Raquel’s roles now?
I hear Raquel Welch swung her arms when she walked in this one. I was young and didn’t really notice her arms.
Saw it when it first came out. I had forgotten that Messala was in it. Keep expecting him to say “It’s never over, Judah”.
Is there any actress today with the class of Raquel? (True, she couldn’t act, but did any of us really care back then?)
I don’t know but I have this image of the actors encountering multiple polyps, some malignant, who look like Obama, Hillary, Comey, Rosenstein, Lynch, etc.
I was 8 when it came out, one of the first “grown up” movies I watched.
Sofia Vergara.....maybe
With all of the modern digital technology, if Hollywood didn’t screw it up, this film would make an excellent remake.
Raquel Welch. Now, when I saw her in "Fantastic Voyage" wearing that skintight white neoprene suit, I was still at the stage in my life when I was just starting to look at girls and think they might not really be the enemy...
When those guys all started pulling the antibodies off of Raquel Welch, it felt really warm in that theater, and my clothes started feeling kind of tight!
There was a funny story I heard about that scene.
Apparently, when the time came to shoot that scene, the director said "ACTION!" and the guys all began pulling the antibodies off of her. After a few seconds, he yelled "CUT!"
All the guys looked up in surprise and when one of them asked what was wrong, he pointed at Raquel who had all the antibodies removed from everywhere except on her boobs and her crotch. The director, pointing at her said "She looks like a damn burlesque dancer there!" Nobody had wanted to be, er..."ungentlemanly", so they all avoided those parts.
When they shot it again, they all went straight for her boobs and crotch at the same time as the director yelled "CUT! CUT!" Then he said to one guy "You remove them from here!" as he pointed to each of them and assigned an area for them to remove antibodies from!
Agreed...I think it would interesting and fun!
Didn’t Asimov have something to do with this? The original story or something?
In the remake they’d make sure the Raquel Welch character is portrayed as a lesbian Mexican DREAMer.
Hahahahaha...Plate O’ Shrimp...:)
Surely there must be an actress today who could carry that white neoprene suit???
***Messala was in it.***
Took a few minutes till you meant Livius!
FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE (1964)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058085/
Great story & completely believable.
It was my favorite scene when I saw it in the theater.
That was my impression as well, you never know about things you read on the Internet, but when I read that account I thought that sounded too genuine not to be true!
Darned if Donald Pleasance from THX1138 isn’t in that scene.
We watched this movie back in the early ‘80s in health class. It’s funny because it looks really dated now but back then it was still fairly current.
Raquel Welch in a tight wetsuit was worth the price of admission.
