If Yellowstone has a mega-eruption I won’t be posting here any more.
(and, no, that’s not a good reason to hope for it.) :)

Nah. It’s a bathroom...unless there are a bunch of urns or kegs that fit in those holes. To think that despite being invented thousands of years ago, widespread use of indoor plumbing is a relatively new phenomenon, even in the USA.

The Yellowstone Caldera supervolcano last erupted 70,000 years ago. Actually closer to 630,000 years.

Yellowstone routinely has small earthquake swarms, caused by hydraulic movement within the crust. They do not portend magma eruptions or even magma movements. While the Yellowstone caldera has seen elevation of the floor due to underlying magma flow, this could go on for centuries without anything happening on the surface.

Yes, the circular openings along the bar were for the large jugs of wine from which it was dipped for customers. Pompeii had a bar on just about every corner, as befits a prosperous resort community that liked to party.

Openings make sense now. I remember some less savory establishments which probably served wine too. Less savory by our standards I suppose.

Tween Mount Saint Helens in this cauldron up there in Yellowstone I can only imagine that the Sasquatch are getting a little peeved of relocating every 30 years or so.
