For more than two years, leaks of highly sensitive, often classified information to a few privileged media outlets by members of the deep state occurred on a regular basis as the coup attempt against POTUS Donald Trump slowly unfolded.
And for just as long, supporters of the president pleaded with members of Congress and the Jeff Sessions-run Justice Department to take action against those conspirators.
Sessions, who had foolishly recused himself from all things Russia, refused to act, frustrating tens of millions of Americans who saw the president battered daily by skewed reporting based on contextual leaks aimed at creating the narrative that POTUS was a Putin stooge at worst and a criminal at best.
But as the saying goes, theres a new sheriff in town Attorney General William Barr and hes preparing to get to the bottom of this coup attempt and, we believe, hold those who helped craft and execute it responsible.
At least, thats what he said under oath on Wednesday during his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
In particular, the committees former chairman, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), asked Barr about the leaks and what he was doing about them.
The Inspector General found that during the departments investigation of Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information, there was a culture of unauthorized media contacts. During the Russian investigation, the leaks continued. Leaks undermine the ability of investigators to investigate, Grassley argued. Further leaks to the papers while Congresss questions to the department go unanswered is unacceptable.
What are you doing to investigate unauthorized media contacts by the department and FBI officials during the Russian investigation? Grassley asked.
We have multiple criminal leak investigations underway, Barr responded.

Multiple.
Sen. Joe Kennedy (R-La.) also asked Barr to extend his leak investigation to the special counsels office.
When youre investigating leaks at the Department of Justice and the FBI, I hope you will include the Mueller team as well, Kennedy said, concluding his remarks.
Should Obama be arrested for illegally spying on Trump?
Last month, House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) sent at least five criminal referrals to AG Barr regarding spying on the Trump campaign that he says actually began in 2015, shortly after the president declared his intention to seek the GOP nomination.
Cue the deep state panic.
We’ve waited a long time for justice...
Small, inconsequential potatoes compared to the attempted coup.
Yep - they tried to browbeat him and he only showed he has utter disdain and contempt for them instead of the fear they tried to instill - they are now terrified that he has plainly said he’s investigating a variety of “issues”...and they can’t expect those helpful leaks to give them a heads up...if any occur on his watch he will be livid and go after the perps with both barrels....which he has made clear w/o saying so directly as he addressed the “culture of unauthorized leaks” while they were hooting and hollering and insulting him during their grandstand attempt to malign him...
Excellent observation!!!!!
IBIWISI. Indictments minimum. Otherwise, keep prepping.
If Barr calls it a COUP, he needs to PROSECUTE guilty parties as such.
NO simple disgracing them out of their offices!!!
PERFECT wording!!!
Maybe that is the real reason Kamala Harris was pushing anti-lynching legislation.
As for Jeff Sessions Magoo never send a Senator to do a real mans job.
FISA abuse investigation from Horowitz is coming in the next week or so. (Probably dumped tomorrow afternoon)
I have a feeling it will be redacted severely yet point to taps on not just Trump but other people as well. What would throw the Dem leadership into absolute panic is if Papodopolous and Flynn had a FISA. Since I’ve heard that the FISA court leadership was pissed that they had been lied to, it should be fun!
Can I get a Duff Man “Ohhhhh Yeaaaaah!
BINGO it’s all the have the plane is on fire put a movie on they will never notice it.
What are the names of Nunes referrals??
BINGO!
Thanks.
The top tier of the Deep State’s congressional rectums are going ballistic against Barr, and this explains why!!!

AG Barr: ‘We Have Multiple Criminal Leak Investigations Underway’ After Russia Probe

On Wednesday, Attorney General William Barr revealed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched many investigations into the constant leaks to the media during the Trump-Russia investigation. The DOJ is examining just exactly how mainstream media outlets had scoops on the investigation long before Congress had heard anything about the subject matter.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asked Barr about the leaks in his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“The Inspector General found that during the departments investigation of Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information, there was a culture of unauthorized media contacts. During the Russian investigation, the leaks continued. Leaks undermine the ability of investigators to investigate,” Grassley argued. “Further leaks to the papers while Congresss questions to the department go unanswered is unacceptable.”
“What are you doing to investigate unauthorized media contacts by the department and FBI officials during the Russian investigation?” he asked.
“We have multiple criminal leak investigations underway,” Barr responded.
Later in the hearing, Sen. Joe Kennedy (R-La.) suggested Barr extend the probes to special counsel Robert Mueller and his team as well. “When you’re investigating leaks at the Department of Justice and the FBI, I hope you will include the Mueller team as well,” Kennedy said, concluding his remarks.
Last month, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said he had sent multiple criminal referrals to the Department of Justice, including some related to leaks.
“There are five direct referrals based on lying, obstruction, congressional investigation, and leaking. We have a global leaks referral, which involves just a few reporters but could involve multiple people. I don’t think it’s that many people because I think they probably only have a few sources within these agencies,” Nunes said.

I read somewhere that this is going deeper that that. Back like 4 plus years. Looking into spying and dirty tricks by the Obama administration on Republican opposition.
Somebody small will fall on their sword, as usual.

Yes, up to 25,000 innocent Americans could have been surveilled with just the FISA stuff on Carter Page.
Journalist Sharyl Attkisson, the host of Full Measure, follows up on her interview with former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell about her allegation that the entire Russia collusion narrative was made up by anti-Trump political partisans in the FBI and Department of Justice. Attkisson reports how one FISA warrant against Trump staffer Carter Page could be used to legally surveil 25,000 people who were associated with him:
NSA Whistleblower: Page FISA Warrant Likely a Gateway to Spy on Entire Trump Campaign

The Obama-era FISA warrant obtained to monitor the communications of Carter Page was most likely utilized as a gateway to spy on the rest of Donald Trumps 2016 presidential campaign, contended William Binney, a former highly placed NSA official turned whistleblower. The same warrant against Page technically could also have been used to legally justify collecting data on the Republican National Committee (RNC) or the leadership of the Republican Party, Binney said.
Binney was an architect of the NSAs surveillance program. He became a famed whistleblower when he resigned on October 31, 2001 after spending more than 30 years with the agency.
He was speaking during an interview that aired Sunday on this reporters weekend talk radio show, Aaron Klein Investigative Radio, broadcast on New Yorks AM 970 The Answer and NewsTalk 990 AM in Philadelphia.
Binney referred to measures put into place by President Obama in January 2014 that restrict the NSA to collecting data on individuals that are only two steps removed from a target being monitored. He explained that if Page had called anyone from the Trump campaign or the RNC, the NSA could legally have spied not only on that second individual but on others called by the second person.
Stated Binney: If you get a warrant on say Carter Page and for example he has a call or an email to the Republican National Committee or anybody in the Trump campaign, that warrant then allows them to go out two degrees from the RNC to everybody associated with the RNC and from anyone from the Trump campaign to anyone they are associated with.
So effectively what that means is that they had the ability to basically spy on anybody, he said. They could spy on everybody on the Republican National Committee or everybody in the...
