Other than hearing their songs on the radio back before I pretty much stopped listening along about 2000 I had forgotten them until I saw that anon’s meme.
The rhythm of those three lines in that meme instantaneously brought back the memory of that song.

Brief read on Stipes mentioned prior to his presentation he and Natalie Merchant of 10,000 Maniacs were a thing. I could probably dig around here and find one or two of those things called cds of her music.
Now, too much external stimuli interferes with trying to get two brain cells to connect. Silence is my friend. :)
