They’ve been vaulted since their recording a few months after her husband’s death, but now the secret confessions of Jackie Kennedy Onassis will be released. The shocking tapes reveal that the former first lady believed that Lyndon Johnson and Texas businessmen were behind the assassination of her husband on Nov. 22, 1963. Other than hearing their songs on the radio back before I pretty much stopped listening along about 2000 I had forgotten them until I saw that anon’s meme.

The rhythm of those three lines in that meme instantaneously brought back the memory of that song.

Strange how the mind works. I don’t remember eating yesterday. :)

Brief read on Stipes mentioned prior to his presentation he and Natalie Merchant of 10,000 Maniacs were a thing. I could probably dig around here and find one or two of those things called cds of her music.

A lot of news outlets have been posting old stories as if they are new. It’s easy to get fooled unless you recognize that it’s an old story, or if you happen to notice the date by the reporter’s byline.

It’s a stupid practice. Even the LA Times ran an old story this morning.
