Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg says President Donald Trump is “kind of like a Chinese finger trap — you know, the harder you pull, the more you get stuck” and warns that Democrats shouldn’t get bogged down in trying to “knock him flat with some zinger.” […]

Like Obama he so breezily insults his political opponents that his supporters won’t even notice. I talk to liberal family members and they never can remember how nasty Barack “John, I won.” Obama was toward the GOP and it’s voters. It’s like it never happened.
Ironically, there is little one can do to unite the races in this country. I find it sad. There is no speech Trump has given in which his actual words aren’t beautifully expressing his support for every race or ability of American citizens. Yet he is called a full racist. Because he doesn’t want illegal immigration or imported terrorists.
Obama was supposed to pull black and white together the way his parents did (when the married African screwed the 17 year old white girl in college). Yet he did nothing for race relations either, always noting racial differences and openly preferring one over the other a la Lyndon Johnson. There were more racial riots under him than under the previous 4 presidents.
So who could possibly bring races together, and actually get credit for it?
There is little one can do? One can at least not deliberately divide the races, for a start; but that is the goal of the Democrats (and the RINOs that help them quietly).
Take note that the only ones calling Trump “racist” are the racists.
Butterfingers is trying to BAIT our side into a debate on homosexuality, a debate that we should be able to easily win, but WE CANNOT WIN because the media controls the terms of the debate - specifically what gets reported, and most importantly, who represents our side.
Sadly for him, no luck yet, Pence was smart enough to stay clear and allowed him to make an ‘ass’, so to speak, of himself.
The supporters who are actively into racial thuggery will certainly notice.
BTW, AFAICR it was Eric Cantor to whom Obama said “Elections have consequences and at the end of the day, I won”. Of course, we all remember Cantor’s fate.

The whole thing was astroturfing. The one who yelled “Sodom and Gomorrah” was evidently a false flag who was there to rally the “Pete, Pete, Pete” astroturfers.
If I were Pete, that’s what I would.
There is little one can do, yes, if Trump gives speeches RE race that rival MLK’s choices of phrase, and he is still called a racist. I believe he could do more by actually explaining this, but he won’t.
The way it is now, if you’re born with a certain small amount of melanin you are still a racist by default.
But, it’s okay for him to get bogged down attacking Vice President Pence?
Again, who is he called a “racist” by? Racists.

Just like he hurled a bunch of these “zingers” at Trump here after saying to not get “bogged down” in them.
Never mind his identity politics when it comes to “white working class” or whatever, which shows how out of touch he is with those voters he claims to be chasing.
Just wait until Mayor Pete is VP-candidate and debates Pence. That event will determine whether Pence wins in 2024-2028, and could shape morality discussions for years.
