Kim Foxx: I welcome this investigation and pledge my full cooperation and the cooperation of my office as [Inspector General] [Patrick] Blanchard conducts his review.

Foxx is the George Soros sponsored candidate for prosecutor. She is up for election in 2020.
Kim Foxx is corrupt as hell.
The Second City Cop blog (recommended) refers to her as “Crimesha”. Cops detest her.
Which one of these women would you prefer?
Like she has a choice
Another BRAZEN Democrat delay tactic by another BRAZEN damned Democrat. She’s counting on the I.G. to take through the election cycle to release any results thus placing her in the running for reelection. Democrats favorite ploy under such circumstances: delay, delay, delay, obfuscate, lie, spin, parry, and dodge.
I had to sit through a trite speech with Julianna Stratton (Pritzker’s Lieutenant Governor) a few days ago. It was nothing but empty cliches. Her sole qualification is that served one term in the legislature.
States Attorney Kim Foxx has asked Cook County Inspector General Patrick Blanchard to review her offices handling of the Jussie Smollett case.
The request for an investigation by the countys watchdog agency comes two weeks after Foxxs office dropped all charges against the Empire actor for an alleged hoax hate crime attack, with the actor turning over $10,000 from his bond to the city and making no admission of guilt. The deal, and Foxx, have been blasted by police and prosecutors organizations, and a petitions seeking appointment of a special prosecutor to review Smolletts case will be heard by Chief Criminal Courts Judge LeRoy K. Martin Jr. next month.
Foxx has promised total access to her office to probe the Smollett case, Blanchard said Friday.
She lost me at “Cook County.”
The Cook County IG might be the most lucrative job in Illinois......... seriously.
Foxx is a nasty Silverback.
That’s right! She offers total access to her office, but she knows the I.G. will take a long time for the results of the investigation to be released to the public, IF they are, thus, as planned she remains a viable candidate throughout the 2020 election cycle.
Without the I.G. delay she’s more than likely political history. Should the I.G. be appointed, which is IMO a foregone conclusion noting whom it is, and where it is she will have cover to not discuss anything about the case under investigation, and can be free as a bird to lie like HELL about any, and all issues otherwise. IOW she will more than likely win reelection IF the I.G. is appointed to “look into the case”. If not she is as I said above “likely political history”.
Kim Foxx says she “welcomes” the investigation by a third party, but that is just whistling past the graveyard. Illinois, and Chicago in particular is in the throes of an intraparty struggle.
Lori Lightfoot is the new mayor in town, who arrived as the “outsider”, and was immediately at odds with the “old boys’ club” that is the Chicago City Council. An advocate of increasing the effectiveness of the police force, Mayor Lightfoot ran into headwinds right away from the office of the Cook County State’s Attorney, which seemed to be dropping the ball a lot on convictions, even in the face of overwhelming evidence. In the example of “prosecutorial discretion” of Jussie Smollett, Kim Foxx may have gone a bridge too far.
Trial by headlines seems pretty sensational, but given the widespread corruption for which Chicago has been so famous, it may be the only way to fan up the flames to consume all the old ways and entrenched party hacks.
Even in the face of no effective Republican party within Chicago, there is still a countervailing force that has arisen to combat the worst excesses of the remnants of the old Chicago Machine.
Which means the IG is in the bag, too.
There’s no problem here...the Feds can prosecute him for wire fraud, among other things.
Headline is incorrect.
Where is the obvious mail fraud federal indictment?
The Feds should go after Blanchard, who himself is corrupt as hell. After all, he works one of the most lucrative offices in Illinois, and enjoys the luxury of being surrounded with “talent”.
Maybe not the same urgency as resolving the Mueller report findings, but it should have the full attention of the DOJ Northern Illinois District office.
Oh yeah, the IG for the most blatantly corrupt county in America is going to lend some real credibility to the cover-up, I’m sure.
Investigate Patrick IG and all he has worked on also.
