Preet Bharara was his predecessor. He was a bad guy. Buried the Wiener laptop/hillary emails issues dark and deep.
You may be thinking of the new NY State AG, Letishia “Tish” James. Took office in January 2019. She ran on a platform of attacking All Things Trump.
She filled the office after Eric Schneiderman resigned last year on account of his penchant for beating and strangling his mistresses.
RR bullied the US Attorney in the SDNY into recusing from the Cohen investigation, and then some Obama holdovers took it from there. Not sure whether Berman is in charge of what the SDNY is doing with respect to Trump, but hopefully, Barr has a handle on it.
