Jan Smithers *rocked*. Way more wholesome, girl-next-door look than Loni Anderson.

You got that right! I was 13 when WKRP was on the air and I truly watched it for Jan Smithers. She had soooo little screen time it was a crime. I didn't know it at the time but she was the show's minx--a good bad girl--not the over-the-top Jennifer Marlow (ridiculous name!) played by Anderson.

I think I actually would sigh when Jan Smithers was on camera.

"I think I actually would sigh when Jan Smithers was on camera."

Well, as for me there was or is no "I think I would sigh". Ain't no thinkin' about it.

Two weeks ago I was enjoying a brief and quite rare occasion of being King of the Remote, and I happened upon the very first WKRP episode on MeTV and right at the beginning, too. The channel surfing brakes got slammed on, and I parked it right there because...well...you know...

I am on the north side of 60, and there I was consciously aware of my audible sighing and giggling just a wee bit as if I was 16 again. Fortunately Mrs. Guy did not hear me carrying on thus putting me in a spot where I had to explain my adolescent-like moony-ness. Well, if she did, I could just bust her out on her getting all swoon-faced over that dude who plays the "hot vicar" in Grantchester.

Whatever it is, Jan Smithers just has IT.
