No, I don't consider myself particularly bright. But I do have an uncanny ability to see through the fog and am a most excellent student of human behavior. I leave the big thinking and research to the truly brilliant, of which there a a LOT of who research Q.
And you just hit upon one of the main reasons "you people" have a problem with Q. I call it the "smartest guy in the room" theory. For years, some people have considered themselves adept at political commentary, especially on FR. Now along comes a "guy" who challenges their supremacy.
They naturally resist this interloper and are left looking like they don't really know what they thought they knew.
I do get it. I really do.
So no, it's not about being "bright". It's simply about the WILLINGNESS to expand your thinking and accept a new way of looking at things. Simple, really.
