Been looking at both Class A gas and diesel.

Also wondering about towing a small car with us.

We always towed......our best trip was 3 months out West

Caveat!.....Things can and do break......it helps to be a bit mechanical minded

For class A’s whether diesel or gas I would recommend looking at, Newmar, Tiffin or Winnebago. Those 3 have good quality relative to others, in general, and all 3 make several class A with many floor plan options. As I said in my first post to you..make sure you have a qualified person inspect...I have seen what can happen if no inspection is done.

You can get very good gas or diesel units..some people will tell you “have to get gas some say diesel” you can get good performance from either..gas units are typically cheaper..

We tow a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk behind ours..we tow 4 down....when towing read your owners manual and find out how your car/truck can be towed..some (actually most) can’t be towed four down and some can’t be towed any way other than on a trailer with all four wheels on the trailer. It is amazing how much damage can be done if it is not towed properly....

If you have any questions let me know and I will be glad to answer...

You will need a vehicle to drive around in. Either the truck you towed the trailer with or a motor home hauling another vehicle. I’ve seen some large motor homes hauling full sized pickups.

My husband and I have a 36’ 2008 Fleetwood Bounder. We bought it off the lot in 2009 so it was a great deal. It’s a class A gas with two slide outs. The entire galley area from behind the driver seat to the bedroom in the back slides out so the main living space is quite roomy. It’s getting harder to find a Class A nowadays that is not diesel. You might get a few more miles to the gallon with diesel but from what I understand the maintenance costs are significant. And a house on wheels has a lot of maintenance. Also the diesel has more of a “bus” feel as the entry is at the front. Our entry is more to the center of the rig and there is a front passenger seat. When there’s just the two of you it’s nice for the driver to have a navigator up front. We tow my 2012 Ford Escape with a tow bar. There is an initial cost to add the tow apparatus to your vehicle. Keep that in mind.
