NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country star Brad Paisley broke ground on a grocery store that will offer free items to people in need.
The Store is a partnership between Paisley and his alma mater Belmont University.
It will be located on the schools campus and operate like a regular grocery store, except when people scan items no money is exchanged.
(This model) takes away the sting of embarrassment for a parent who maybe feels that way because they cant feed their kid, Paisley said. The kids should not know what their parent is going through. Thats not stress a child needs.
Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, got the idea after volunteering with their children at a similar store in California.

This will work as about as well as a rain dance!
However he & his wife will feel good about themselves!
Isn’t that what its all about?
Isnt that called a food bank?
Nice gesture.
Oh, some folks never learn.
That’ll last about a week.
If it’s he and his wife’s money, it’s more than most the rich folk do...More power to them...
I predict a short lifetime for this place.
What could possibly go wrong?...................
I knew the concept sounded familiar.
Non Profits I’ve worked for tend to make big use of Food Banks. That’s what they’re primarily for.
Mormons have been doing this for a long time.
Because we need to teach kids that everything is free.
Make work for them until they can move on to real jobs. Give it to them? They become leeches and communists
Don't be surprised when you observe there are many people who won't be in the least bit embarrassed to fill their grocery carts full of free sh*t. Nope. They'll have no shame at all about doing it.
Most, if not all, of the churches in my area have food banks. People tend to take care of one another in times of real need.
Yeah... good for them for trying to help out. I wish them the best and I pray the vultures and opportunists stay away so those with a true need can be helped out a little. I grew up on welfare and I still remember the embarrassment of spending food stamps. Definitely left an impression on me... something I never wanted to use again. I guess using an EBT card probably isn’t so embarrassing... maybe we need to bring back the food stamps.
Panera store opened here in Boston that allowed you to pay what you want, one cent, ten dollars, whatever. Guess what. It’s closing. Too many people paid the one cent I suspect.
Human nature never changes.

the kids need to know what the parent is going thru because it’s a lesson so the kids don’t just follow same incident or whatvere made for the problem.
Pasley store is not a real help just enabling bandaid. people need to learn to rebudget, accept minimal short term help and seek every opportunity for work not just the ones they feel like.

Si Senor. Nashville has a large amount of freeloaders both multi-generational and newly arrived. Most of the home grown freeloaders are too lazy to go pick up the food.
